November 2020

November 2020
We are just cruising along. The world is still upside down, but we are trying to live as normal as possible.
Including: Homecoming!
Here's Giselle--it was so weird to not have Maddie in the pics.

And Shelby/Shelberto
And Giselle's then boyfriend, Andrew.

Amelia at school

An actual PCC concert. We performed some pieces that were supposed to be done in March, plus some chamber pieces that were part of the cancelled tour.
A classy photo of me and Ralph, lol.

Annual school pictures. I was so on top of things that I purchased them right away, using the tiny thumbnail proof and then when I opened them I couldn't stop laughing. Oh dear children.
You can see her eye is infected here. Really should have done the retakes.

Wyatt participated in the veterans day slideshow. Proud and grateful for our family who has served.

Maddie turned 19! Can you believe that? She's such a beautiful girl inside and out. She has grown so much and is so mature and patient and capable. I love that her hair is the same as when she was 4.

We set up our Christmas trees super early. Christmas was like the only good thing happening so we did it up.

A good quote. Lots of thought work happening here.

Will had an actual band concert. It lasted 8 minutes. It was nice.

I had an ensemble concert at the Plano campus of Collin College. It was the worst performance of my life. My partner and I had hooked our iPads together and I was going to turn pages and it was supposed to turn hers too. It did not turn hers. Not 100% of the time. So it was a complete disaster. Plus, we were very far away from each other. I did not know what was going on with her so I was freaking out too. In between pieces, we tested it out backstage and it worked fine. Once we got back out on stage it did it again. I was super embarrassed and sad to let my teacher down. But that's life. At least this wasn't our main recital.

My piano teacher sent us a Jacquie Lawson advent calendar. It was seriously one of the highlights of our Christmas season.

My BFF's birthday.

We had a small thanksgiving with my parents, grandma and uncle. It was after this meal that I realized, I don't honestly love Thanksgiving food. I like it. But if I'm going to splurge on lots of eating, I'll take Chinese. Or pizza.

Amelia has started that horrible selfie phase.

We took a little day trip to a state park. I can't even remember the name. It was chilly and windy, but fun to roam around and see some new sights.
I think Wyatt looks like Uncle Fester here.

And Giselle gratefully make sugar cookies with the kids. I actually despise make them (eating is another matter) so I was glad for them to have some holiday fun.

 And that's November.

Household Happenings--June 2020

I'm trying to get the hang of the new blogger interface. It seems that no matter which order I click the photos, it puts them in whatever order it prefers. So, not in chronological order. And do you mean to tell me that they updated and STILL removed the spell check?  Dumbest thing ever.

Our pools finally opened up, after big neighborhood fights, but one of the best things to normalize this dumb year.

I made a cute vintage gift for my friend Virginia.

Wyatt made an army book. He's super into WWII

I went to the movies with Maddie--We saw 50 First Dates. Did not remember that being so crude....

Super into my planner, because there's nothing else to do.

I love President Hinckley.

We like to go to the lake close by. You can pretend you're someplace cool.
More crafting.

The boys are really into models.

While I craft.

Wyatt loves his dad.

Actually dressing up and going to church.

Amelia plays with the cutest baby paper dolls. We have magnets on them so they live on the sheet pans.

Back on the organ!

A real actual date in a restuarant.

Pool time.

Pool time at my friend Teresa's house.

Maddie's graduation!! It went really well despite some major disappointing news and behavior of other students in causing our beloved principal to resign.

We are very proud of her!!

Seminary Graduation. A drive-by.

More lake fun.
