November 2021

November!
This is some of the girls from my ensemble class. My teacher got really sick and was in the hospital so we sent her this pic to cheer her up.
My mom and dad.
Will's teeth are already so much straighter!!
Touring the Meyerson for upcoming MCO concerts
I took a mini trip to see my friend Lisa in Memphis. This is a pic of me taking my keyboard so I can still be favorite student. It was actually good because I finally memorized the last line of the fugue while I was there. Lisa and I had been planning a trip all year and we finally made it happen. It was short, and I drove (which, I love a road trip so that was fine). Mostly we ate. And watched the Forsyte Saga and talked prepping and chickens and I feel so spoiled when I go there. It's a true vacation.

Daily chiro adjustments.

Back at home, look at MeeWee practicing the piano. She's so cute there.
And that's her way up the climbing rope at homeschool gymnastics
And always with her BFF Zoe
Look at our clean Lego room!!
More cute sleeping pics
And our missionary!

She had a birthday and is 20!!! It was kind of sad because she was sick so it wasn't a stellar day.
Look at this girl. She went from 51 absences last year to this!
I sent this pic to Maddie so she could remember how cute MeeWee is.
MCO Leadership! Past and present.
Homemade pumpkin pies!
Art girls. Giselle was named Student Artist of the Month
Will had a crazy scary migraine/headache thing happen to him. We were afraid it was from welding galvanized pipes, or from football and hope that it was a fluke. I did not like seeing this.

But he was quickly revived by the pile of junk go-carts that Tyler managed to scavenge from FB marketplace. This boy has been in heaven since.

 Our flock
The roll recipe made A LOT of rolls
Thought this was cute
Family Pdays!
Will got that 4 wheeler running and spruced it up with a camo paint job
We did family pics--sisters
And here's a video of Teresa and I playing Brasiliera.

I don't have a single pic of Thanksgiving apparently. We did 2 this year.  A pre-thanksgiving so we'd have plenty of leftovers and all our favorite foods and then a real one at my bro and SIL's new house. It was all very mellow and nice!

Household Happenings--September 2020

The kids are begging for another update. Will has discovered my blog and we had a pretty fun time looking at all the memories and funny stuff.

September started with an actual PCC concert!
Real live singing! It was fun to sing, but felt weird, small audience and it still seems like we're doing something illegal.

I chronicled my lunch packing.

We paid the kids to try some raw liver. 3 out of 5 took us up on it.

Awww. Fresh eggs on the counter is one of my favorite sights. I currently pay one of my piano families for eggs, but soon enough I will have my own chickens. Screw the HOA! We live in dangerous times!

Tyler's office is pretty darn cool. He installed faux beams along the top (hard to photograph them all) but it looks super cozy.

Thrifting adventures. Why didn't I purchase this top? I'm feeling remorse of some sort.

Amelia had to disguise a turkey for school. I thought I did an adorable job.

I took a week off of school and teaching and drove Maddie up to college in ID. We had a fun drive getting up there. It was some intense rain, and then freezing and snow and then super beautiful. I had never been up that way and was loving it. I love a road trip anyway. It was cute, one of the hotel clerks in Rexburg said I did NOT look old enough to have a college kid. She probably says that to everyone. But I definitely don't feel old enough!

Maddie got her room all decorated and we spent a lot of money along with all the other parents at Walmart. It was endearing to see moms teaching their kids about food at the Walmart.

Saying goodbye. She was so excited to be there, but it's a sad and strange feeling to drive away from your oldest kid. Normally they are the ones taking the action of leaving. Not me. But I know it's the right place for her and the right time.
I met my bro and family in Salt Lake and we had costa vida or that other one. I can't remember.

Then I stopped and bought BYU fabric and 4 Crumbl cookies.
I got to drive home by myself and I loved it. The open road, my music and podcasts, stopping when I wanted. Or not. Day 2 of driving home I actually didn't even stop once. Not to go to the bathroom, or eat. I have amazing skills, and I lived off of crumbl cookies. They did not make it home.
Ty made reservations for me to stay at a vintage Route 66 hotel in Tucumcari NM. I LOVED it there.
That whole town fascinates and saddens me.
It's the last motel of it's kind with garages for the guests. It's beyond adorable.
This is wear the tiny kitchenette would have been:
My cozy room with original desk and chair.

Teeny original bathroom too.

This is wear Disney people stayed when they were working on Cars and took a lot of inspiration.

I stopped at some super awesome tacky gift shops

And then drove on to Amarillo where I was going to do some antiquing. Which BTW is fabulous. I spent nearly all day there and there was still more to see! I would love to take a road trip back with Ty and spent a few days there.

I then grabbed a little cesars pizza, gas and water bottles and drove the rest of the way home. It was a great trip.
Back at home, we wasted no time turning Maddie's room into Amelia's. Big family life. Tyler repaired and painted the room and we got rid of that bed frame (we found it free anyway). Will was pumped to have her full size mattress.

And now it's a super cute girl room for Amelia!

And we get the computer area back because my sewing stuff gets to go back into its room!
Yay! Thanks Maddie.

An IG girl I follow asked everyone to post their favorite thrifted/found objects. This is my cluster.

My favorite ever meme. gif? pic. Eyeroll.

Will played football for the school and LOVED every minute of it. He got some  pretty good game time in and had his name called over the loud speaker quite a bit.

Tyler worked out some creative angst on some old fence boards and came up with this:

Amelia and our crafted doll piano.
Some gardening.

The Wylie Collin campus had an open house so I took my kids so we could hear my piano teacher and explore. It's a super nice facility and so close!

More of Amelia's need to put things to bed:

Another fence board creation
And Amelia thrifting with me and finding THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING.
   That's September!
